HC Deb 11 November 1969 vol 791 c68W
Mr. Richard Wainwright

asked the Minister of Technology what proportion of work done by the United Kingdom wool and allied textile dyeing and finishing industry during the most convenient recent period of 12 months he estimates to have been for ultimate export from the United Kingdom.

Dr. Ernest A. Davies

Estimates for this section of the wool industry are not available. In 1963 approaching half of the net output of the woollen and worsted industry as a whole was ultimately exported: the ratio for the finishing and dyeing section was probably lower.
