HC Deb 11 November 1969 vol 791 cc75-6W
Mr. Hannanand

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many sites were allocated under Glasgow redevelopment plans for the building of health centres; whether Maryhill is included in that list; how many are now under construction; if he will make a statement.

Mr. Ross

No specific sites for health centres were allocated under the Glasgow redevelopment plans. A Joint Medical Services Committee, on which the bodies concerned locally with the provision of health services are represented, has adopted a programme incorporating proposals for centres in twenty-one areas, including Maryhill, and planning is proceeding on the basis of priorities recommended by the Committee. Sites for three centres have been determined, and the siting of others is being considered with Glasgow Corporation. One centre, at Woodside, it as present under construction.
