§ 83. Mr. Tilneyasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is his policy for increasing the number of technically trained entrants to industry by securing a reduction in number of those who drop out from the lower stages of their technological training; and whether he has considered the evidence of Dr. J. Gardner of Bradford Technical College in his Survey of Students' Reading 1964, a copy of which has been sent to him.
§ Mr. FowlerI expect a continuation of the progress which has taken place in recent years as a result of the introduction of new patterns of courses and of an increased number of systematic schemes of training and education following the introduction of the Industrial Training Act. I do not think that the limited survey referred to lends itself to generalisation.
