§ Mr. Alfred Morrisasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government which local authorities in the area of Lancashire, Cheshire and the High Peak have taken the requisite action to encourage occupation of empty rated property during the period 1964 to 1969.
§ Mr. Denis HowellEccles Borough Council and Alsager Urban District Council have been exercising the powers in the General Rate Act, 1967, to levy150W half rates on empty property since 1st April, 1967, and Southport County Borough Council since 1st April, 1968. The powers were not available before 1st April, 1967.
