HC Deb 04 November 1969 vol 790 c90W
Sir Ian Orr-Ewing

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will provide an estimate of the number of public companies which have not yet filed their accounts for 1966, 1967, and 1968.

Mrs. Gwyneth Dunwoody

Almost all public companies in manufacturing and distribution with net assets exceeding £500,000 or profits exceeding £50,000 have filed accounts for 1966 and 1967, and 85 per cent. of these companies have filed accounts for 1968. To extract information about the smaller public companies would involve an undue expense of time and effort.
