HC Deb 04 November 1969 vol 790 c80W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer in view of the growing practice of some newspapers of publishing articles by criminals, near criminals and relatives of convicted persons, and of paying large fees for such articles, whether he will introduce legislation to ensure that all such payments are disallowed against profits and excluded from the class of expenses wholly and necessarily incurred in the furtherance of the business of these newspapers.

Mr. Taverne
