HC Deb 04 November 1969 vol 790 cc110-1W
Mr. MacArthur

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what further consideration he has given to the route of the M90 motorway between Glenfarg and Bridge of Earn ; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Ross

Consulting engineers are surveying the Arlary to Muirmont (Bridge of Earn) section of M90 which will replace the present road through Glenfarg. Their report will enable me to publish a proposed route which will then be subject to the normal statutory procedures.

Mr. MacArthur

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland when the M90 motorway by-passing Cowdenbeath and Kelty will be open ; and when he estimates that work will begin and be completed on each further section of the motorway to Perth.

Mr. Ross

The Cowdenbeath bypass section of M90 will be opened on 1st December 1969. The Kinross-Milnathort bypass, which will have a two-year contract period, will start early next year. It should be possible to start work on the remaining sections in the early 1970's after the necessary engineering and statutory preliminaries have been completed.
