HL Deb 04 November 1969 vol 305 c332WA
LORD O'HAGAN

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What progress has been made with an independent body for investigating complaints affecting the Hospital Service.

BARONESS SEROTA

My right honourable friend the Secretary of State for Social Services is preparing new guidance to hospitals on the handling of complaints and will be consulting the professional, staff and other interests concerned about this. He will also be consulting them on the idea of a Health Commissioner on which it is essential to have their views before a decision is taken.

House adjourned at twenty-four minutes before eight o'clock.
