asked the Secretary of State for Scotland why he has chosen to hold the public inquiry concerning the Hunterston Peninsula in Ayr ; and whether he will change the venue to Largs or some other centre in North Ayrshire nearer to the area in question.

This inquiry is of much more than local significance. I decided that, on balance, Ayr would be the most convenient place for those involved in it.
