HC Deb 04 November 1969 vol 790 c121W
Mrs. Ewing

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will take steps to ensure that a family consisting of an ageing parent looking after a disabled adult son or daughter can remain together.

Dr. John Dunwoody

There is a wide range of local authority services designed to help younger physically handicapped people remain in their own homes. There are also cash payments by way of national insurance and supplementary benefits for those who are too old to work and young people who are incapable of work ; and it is our intention to introduce an attendance allowance for very severely disabled people of all ages.
