HC Deb 03 November 1969 vol 790 c47W
71. Mr. Chichester-Clark

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government on how many occasions the National Building Agency have acted as design consultants for local authorities in housing schemes; and how many staff they retain for this purpose.

Mr. Freeson

Over the past five years the National Building Agency have acted as design consultants for local authorities in housing schemes as follows:

full services on research and development projects: five occasions;

partial services for local authorities and consortia: eight occasions.

Twelve staff are currently engaged on full or partial design consultancy services. Staff are not exclusively retained for this purpose but form part of larger groups who provide advisory services for public authorities on industrialised building, metrication, cost planning and similar activities.
