HC Deb 03 November 1969 vol 790 c15W
32. Mr. Eadie

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what plans he has for increasing the disregards.

Mr. O'Malley:

None. As my predecessor said in reply to a Question by my hon. Friend, the Member for West Fife (Mr. William Hamilton), on 30th June, we have no plans at present to increase the amounts of disregards specified in the Ministry of Social Security Act; any such increase would of course benefit only those already living above the supplementary benefit levels.—[Vol. 786, c. 16–17.]
