HC Deb 02 May 1969 vol 782 c288W
Mr. Biffen

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity if she has now completed her study of the recent settlement between Swan Hunter and the woodworkers employed in its five yards on the Tyne; and if she will indicate the estimated percentage rise in earnings and productivity arising from the settlement.

Mr. Harold Walker

It is estimated that earnings will rise by about 4.2 per cent. per annum. It is expected that this will be more than offset by savings from icreased productivity.
