HC Deb 02 May 1969 vol 782 c285W
Mr. Biffen

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity, if Rolls-Royce has yet completed the process begun in January of submitting the agreement on the pay for clerical staff so that it might be assessed against the requirements of incomes policy; what has led to the delays; and if she will make a statement.

Mr. Harold Walker

Although Rolls-Royce notified my Department that a pay settlement covering clerical staff had been agreed in January, 1969 the company found it necessary to conduct further negotiations on productivity improvements. On 16th April the company was able to report that negotiations had been finally concluded. The Company has now been informed that the Department would not object to the implementation of this agreement.
