§ Mr. Whitakerasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government how many local authorities have so far taken steps to make their public buildings accessible to the disabled; and whether he will list in the OFFICIAL REPORT those local authorities which have made most and those which have made least progress in this respect.
§ Mr. SkeffingtonI regret this information is not available, as my right hon. Friend has not thought it right to ask local authorities to make returns about it. But they have been advised whenever they are designing new public buildings to ensure that the needs of the disabled are taken into account, and I have no reason to doubt that they are following this advice.
