Mr. Speed

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will list in alphabetical order all the committees, boards and councils whose members in whole or part he appoints.

Mr. Diamond

My right hon. Friend appoints members to the following committees, boards and councils.

  • British Council (Executive Committee)—one member.
  • British Petroleum Co. Ltd. and certain subsidiaries—Two Directors.
  • Decimal Currency Board—Chairman, Deputy Chairman and members.
  • Income Tax Act, 1952 (Advisory Panel on Section 468)—Chairman and three members.
  • Prevention of Fraud (Investments) Act, 1958 (Tribunal of Inquiry)—one member.
