§ Mr. Andersonasked the Secretary of State for Wales what plans he has for extending lay participation in the running of the National Health Service in Wales.
§ Mr. George ThomasSuch participation already exists in the lay members of hospital boards, hospital management committees, executive councils and local 323W health authorities. A considerable amount of voluntary work is undertaken in hospitals by lay persons. The extension of lay participation is one of the matters being dealt with in discussions on the Green Paper.
