HC Deb 02 May 1969 vol 782 cc295-6W
Mr. Judd

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will consult local authorities and fire services about arrangements for dealing with outbreaks of fire in multi-storey buildings.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

The arrangements made by fire authorities in England and Wales for fighting fires and for enforcing, or giving advice on, fire precautions in buildings of all kinds are already the subject of continuous consultation and review through the machinery of the Central Fire Brigades Advisory Council, on which all sections of the fire service are represented. If my hon. Friend has any particular problem in mind and will let me have details, I shall be glad to give him what further information I can.
