§ Mr. UrwinThe figure of £260 million represents the estimated cost of preferential assistance to industry in all development areas (over and above what they received under national schemes) in 1968–69. Details for individual areas are not yet available, but in the case of Scotland the sum involved is expected to be about £90 million.
