§ Mr. Harry Howarthasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what representations have been made to him by the Welland and Nene River Authority for an increase in its capital expenditure ceiling to enable it to carry out work to alleviate flooding at Grendon, Northamptonshire.
§ Mr. John MackieMy officials yesterday received a deputation from the Authority. The existing arrangements for grant to river authorities for land drainage works enable each authority to choose on which approved works they will claim grant up to an annual capital expenditure ceiling but do not prevent work from being carried out above this ceiling without grant.
