§ Mr. CrossmanI take every appropriate occasion to encourage the development of voluntary service in partnership with hospital and local authorities. Two memoranda about a number of aspects of voluntary service have been sent to hospital authorities, and a third is in preparation. Further steps will be considered when the report of a committee set up by the National Council of Social Service on the rôle of voluntary workers is available.
