§ 89. Mr. Farrasked the Minister of Transport if he will issue a circular to all local authorities advising them on the action to be taken in relation to the removal of snow from footpaths and pavements.
Mr. Bob BrownNo. Although the Department has given general advice to all highway authorities for keeping roads clear of snow and ice it would be difficult to advise generally on the action which should be taken for clearing footpaths and pavements. Such action is best decided in the light of local conditions.
