§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he is aware of the nuisance caused to residents in and around Janson Road, E.15, a residential area, due to the nuisance from Mattessons' sausage 244W factory; and if he will give an assurance that he will accede to a request for loan sanction from the local authority to acquire the premises, with a view to the factory being moved elsewhere.
§ Mr. SkeffingtonI understand that the firm is already building new premises elsewhere. As to loan sanction, there is a continuing need for restraint in public expenditure, but my right hon. Friend would consider any proposal put to him.
