§ Mr. Kenneth Bakerasked the Postmaster-General if he will give an estimate of the value and acreage of the sites of telephone exchanges in the London telephone region.
Mr. StorehousePost Office sites in common with other fixed assets, appear in the Balance Sheet at historical cost (Note 10 of Post Office Report and Accounts 1968–69 refers). They are not subject to depreciation and current values are not assessed.
There are 302 buildings on 153 acres in the London telephone region.
