§ Mr. CarmichaelIn December, 1968, British Railways operated approximately 32,900 road freight vehicles and trailers. On 31st December, in accordance with the provisions of Section 5(3)(a) of the Transport Act, 1968, approximately 212W 31,100 of these were transferred to National Carriers Limited, and approximately 1,800 to Freightliners Limited.
