HC Deb 21 March 1969 vol 780 c183W
Mr. Brooks

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department at what height Her Majesty's Government cease to exercise practical control of Great Britain's airspace.

Mr. Whitlock

I have been asked to reply.

The height to which national control over air space is exercised is a question of international law which has not yet been resolved. For civil aviation purposes at present the United Kingdom authorities provide air traffic control up to 45,000 feet.
