§ Mr. Gregoryasked the Minister of Transport what consideration he has given for a principal road designation for Heaton Moor Road, Stockport; and when he expects to commence works for widening and improving this stretch of roadway.
Mr. Bob BrownWe are at present considering whether to classify Heaton Moor Road as a principal road. If we do, it will become eligible for grant on any approved improvement scheme which may obtain a place in our programme, but it will be for Stockport County Borough Council, as highway authority, to prepare and carry out any such scheme.
