§ 57. Mr. Ian Lloydasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will undertake a general review of overseas trade policy, with particular reference to the effect on the balance of payments of commodity price support schemes affecting United Kingdom food and raw material imports in excess of £10 million per annum in each case.
§ Mr. DellNo. I am satisfied that our present policy is the right one. This is to support the conclusion of international commodity agreements, where appropriate, with the aim of stabilising prices at levels fair to consumers and remunerative to producers.
