Mr. David Howell

asked the Minister for the Civil Service when he will publish proposals on the transferability of pensions of Government scientific workers.

The question of extending existing arrangements for transferring the accrued pension benefits of civil servants is being considered in the light of the proposals in Chapter 6 of the White Paper "National Superannuation and Social Insurance" (Cmnd. 3883) and of the recommendations of the Fulton Committee, but I cannot yet say when we will be ready to publish proposals.
