HC Deb 04 March 1969 vol 779 c93W
Mr. G. Elfed Davies

asked the Postmaster-General what representations have been made to his Department for the provision of a public telephone on the Penrhys Housing Estate in Rhondda; and what reply he has given.

Mr. Stonehouse

I have agreed to a request by the architects and planning consultants to the Rhondda Borough Council to install a public telephone in the shopping centre. As the centre is not yet completed, the architects recently asked for a temporary kiosk to serve the people already living on the estate. We have suggested that the borough council might provide a temporary site and structure until the permanent site is available: this possibility is being examined.
