HC Deb 04 March 1969 vol 779 c58W
34. Mr. Fletcher-Cooke

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer by how much the money supply has increased in £ million between November, 1967, and the latest date for which figures are available.

Mr. Roy Jenkins

Estimates of changes in the money supply are not available for periods shorter than the calendar quarters. From December, 1967, to December, 1968, however, it is estimated that the money supply increased by £986 million, which is less than the growth in Gross National Product over the period.
