HC Deb 04 March 1969 vol 779 c78W
Mr. Bruce-Gardyne

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will hold discussions with the International Monetary Fund regarding his predecessor's undertaking to relax controls on capital movements out of the United Kingdom.

Mr. Roy Jenkins

The International Monetary Fund is well aware of our view that we cannot consider any relaxation in the field of overseas investment until our external position is restored.
