HC Deb 04 March 1969 vol 779 c68W
68. Mr. Higgins

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the machinery of consultation between the Inland Revenue Department and the Home Office and Department of Employment and Productivity to ensure that aliens working in the United Kingdom who have obtained entry on the basis of declarations that they have no children do not claim tax allowances for children.

Mr. Harold Lever

No formal machinery is needed. The steps taken by the Revenue to verify claims for tax allowances would include, where appropriate consultation with other Departments.
