HC Deb 03 March 1969 vol 779 cc11-2W
58 and 59. Sir G. Sinclair

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) if he will now make a statement on the Royal Commission's comments on the reliance of the National Health Service on reinforcements of doctors from overseas and the need to reduce such reliance;

(2) if he will make a statement about medical manpower and the Todd recommendations.

Mr. Crossman

As I said in reply to Questions by the hon. Member on 27th January, I am in sympathy with the Royal Commission's comments on reliance on overseas doctors. My consultations on the Royal Commission's recommendations about medical manpower are now nearly completed but I am not yet ready to make a statement.—[Vol. 776, c. 916–19.]
