Mr. Gresham Cookeasked the Secretary of State for Social Services in view of the fact that the Greater London Council boroughs are unaffected by the Radcliffe-Maud Report, if he will issue a circular advising them that the local social services should be reorganised in line with the Seebohm Report.
§ Mr. CrossmanDecisions on the Seebohm Report cannot be taken without looking beyond Greater London. The Government will reach and announce their decisions as soon as possible, and meanwhile I again endorse the view that no action should be taken by local authorities that might subsequently prove to be incompatible with those decisions.
