§ 54. Dame Irene Wardasked the Secretary of State for Defence whether, in view of the recommendations of the National Board for Prices and Incomes on Service Pay, he proposes to deal with Service pensions now in operation and for the future on a basis which complements the proposals accepted by him for future Service pay.
§ Mr. John MorrisIn line with the interim increase in Service pay, retired pay, pensions and terminal grants which commence on of after 1st April, 1969, will be increased by 4 per cent. and a review of the future Services pensions structure is also being carried out. The Government has already undertaken to review the arrangements for increasing existing public service pensions.
