asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity how many people were refused unemployment benefit in 1968 because they had been dismissed for industrial misconduct.

In 1968, 180,468 claimants were disqualified for receiving unemployment benefit on the ground that they had lost their employment through misconduct. The period of disqualification may vary from one day to six weeks.
