§ 53. Mr. Cordleasked the Postmaster-General what is the estimated total cost so far to the British Broadcasting Corporation of providing local radio services.
§ Mr. StonehouseThe B.B.C. tells me that the operating costs of the eight experimental local radio stations are running at the rate of about £65,000 to £70,000 a year each on average. Slightly more than half of this cost is being met from local contributions.
