§ Mr. SkeffingtonThe rate support grants which came into operation in 1967–68 replaced the former general grants, rate-deficiency grants, grants for school milk and meals and certain highways grants. The total amount of rate support grants and corresponding grants for the years 1964–65 to 1967–68 inclusive was £4,309 million. The corresponding total for the years 1960–61 to 1963–64 was £2,793 million.
