§ Mr. Onslowasked the Minister of Public Building and Works what standards are being, or have been formulated for the supply of chairs to Government establishments; and whether the same standards apply to the nationalised industries.
§ Mr. LoughlinThe Department is responsible for the design, purchase and supply of standard furniture, including chairs, to all Government Departments. Following the publication of the White Paper on "Public Purchasing and Industrial Efficiency" (Cmnd. 3291) in May 1967 the nationalised industries and the Ministry are working closely together to design and produce a standard range of office furniture for their joint use.
