HC Deb 12 June 1969 vol 784 cc304-5W
Mr. St. John-Stevas

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what action he proposes to take following the death of a nine-hour-old baby resulting from an abortion carried out at Stobhill Hospital, Glasgow, on 20th January, 1969; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Ross

As the hon. Member is aware, a fatal accident inquiry into this case was held before a sheriff and jury on 21st-23rd May. I am studying the jury's recommendations and I have called for a transcript of the proceedings at the inquiry. I am unable to make a statement meanwhile.
