HC Deb 12 June 1969 vol 784 c298W
67. Mr. David Steel

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services of the total number of abortions notified to him in the year since the Abortion Act, 1967, came into effect, how many were carried out on patients in the 25th, 26th and 27th weeks of pregnancy, respectively.

Mr. Crossman

Up to the end of 1968 the estimated numbers were 53, 34 and 21 in England and Wales. Comparable figures for 1969 are not yet available.
