§ Mr. Gwilym Robertsasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer, in view of the fall in the home market for cars, if he will, before the autumn, reduce the hire-purchase deposit on cars and lift other credit restrictions to stimulate the home market, so as to avoid increases in car-price or short-time working in the industry next winter.
§ Mr. Harold LeverPolicies in these matters are, of course, kept under review, but at present I see no case for relaxing hire-purchase or other credit restrictions.
