§ Mr. CroslandYes. I have considered the Report of the Cinematograph Films Council and the views of the eight members of the council who submitted a minority report. I have also taken account of the memoranda submitted by the film industry trade associations and unions and other interested parties.
590WMy main conclusions are that the screen quota and levy on exhibitors' takings should be continued, subject to a number of amendments on the lines recommended by the Cinematograph Films Council in its report (Cmnd. 3584). The necessary legislation will be introduced as soon as possible.
A decision on the National Film Finance Corporation is still under discussion and I will make an announcement as soon as I can.
