Mr. Milneasked the President of the Board of Trade if he will make a statement on the effect of the granting of rent-free periods for factories sited in 445W special development districts; and if he will extend this facility to firms who have moved into special development areas as the result of links with already established firms who moved to these districts prior to the granting of special development district status.
§ Mr. William RodgersThis concession, which has been offered to 42 firms so far, is proving an effective inducement. On the second part of the Question, a link with an existing firm in the area would not necessarily preclude the grant of this concession, but it would be necessary to examine the nature of the links.
