HC Deb 24 July 1969 vol 787 cc468-9W
Miss Lestor

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what further consideration has been given to a communications sanction against Southern Rhodesia and with what results.

Mr. Foley

I have nothing to add to my reply to the hon. Member for Norfolk, South-West (Mr. Hawkins), on 21st July.—[Vol. 787, c.235.]

Mr. Wall

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what channels of communicatin on official level now exist between Great Britain and Rhodesia; and what steps he proposes to take to assist pensioners and others directly affected by his decision to close the residual missions in London and Salisbury.

Mr. Foley

I would refer the hon. Member to my right hon. Friend's statement on 24th June and to the answer given by my hon. Friend the Parliamentary Secretary for Overseas Development to the hon. Member for Liverpool, Wavertree (Mr. Tilney) on 30th June about pensions payments in Rhodesia. Payment to people in this country of pensions due to them from Rhodesia can likewise continue without interruption.—[Vol. 785, c. 1218–9; Vol. 786, c. 16.]
