HC Deb 24 July 1969 vol 787 c456W
Q8. Mr. Judd

asked the Prime Minister what consultations he has had with heads of Government in the Commonwealth, Portugal, South Africa, West Germany, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland and Japan concerning sanctions following the illegal referendum in Southern Rhodesia; and whether he will make a statement.

Q11. Mr. Evelyn King

asked the Prime Minister if he will set up a committee of Ministers to supervise Rhodesian sanctions policy and with the duty of issuing monthly statistics showing the estimated value of trade accruing to other nations in breach of sanctions, the estimated costs sustained to United Kingdom public funds and the effect on the balance of payments.

The Prime Minister

We have been and remain in continual touch with Commonwealth and other interested Governments about the situation in Rhodesia. I am satisfied with the present arrangements for Ministerial consideration of these matters.
