HC Deb 24 July 1969 vol 787 c477W
Mr. Howie

asked the Minister of Power what is the Bulk Supply Tariff for the year ending 31st March, 1970, fixed by the Central Electricity Generating Board for the area covered by Eastern Electricity and how it compares with the tariff for the previous year.

Mr. Mason

Full details of the Bulk Supply Tariff for the year ended 31st March, 1969 were published as Appendix 5 to the Central Electricity Generating Board "Annual Report and Accounts 1967–68". The tariff for the year ending 31st March, 1970, which was published last March, includes the following changes from the previous year's tariff(1) the peaking capacity charge, will be £14,708,000 compared with £14,928,000 in 1968–69; (2) the basic capacity charge will be £419,850,000 compared with £441,787,000 in 1968–69; (3) the area factor to be applied to the National Fuel Cost per ton will be, for the Eastern Electricity Board, 1.065 compared with 1.072 in 1968–69.

The tariff should give a national overall price per unit slightly lower than the previous year.
