HL Deb 23 July 1969 vol 304 c1066WA
LORD MOLSON

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they can form an estimate of the percentage of commuters into London who complete their journeys in private motor cars.

LORD HUGHES

About 10 percent. of journeys to work in Central London are made by car. About 35 per cent. of journeys to work across the G.L.C. boundary are made by car, but these are mostly to work-places outside the central area; only about 6 per of these journeys are to Central London.

House adjourned at a quarter past six o'clock.
