§ Mr. Wallasked the Minister of Overseas Development if he will state the flow of both official and private aid from Great Britain to the developing countries expressed as a percentage of the gross national product at market prices for 1968 together with estimates for 1969.
§ Mr. PrenticeThe net flow for 1968 as used for the purpose of the U.N.C.T.A.D. volume targets, was provisionally 0.83 per cent. of the gross national product at market prices. This is made up of 0.42 per cent. official aid and 0.41 per cent. private flows. It is not possible to estimate a figure for 1969, but net official aid is expected to be £187 million, compared with £178 million in 1968. Both of these figures are in cash terms, with no adjustments for rising costs.
